April 4, 2017: Alphabet Poem

Blowing in the wind
Creating a picture
Decades ago
Elementary school tragedy
Flames thrown like darts
Games of hide and seek
Harbored emotions
Instant pain
Jokes tossed like spitballs
Killing classmates with paintballs
Lying on playground grass
Miles from the interstate
Naturally, it was all a dream
Over the rainbow, back to Kansas
People gathered
Rainbows faded
Silence was all that was heard.
Time passed,
usually in seconds, hours, days
Within months, COMA.
X number of countless pills
Young love felt unique like a
Zigzag pattern in the sky.
