Thought Bubble: Taylor Swift; Media, Concerts, Overall Good Human Being
Everybody this day in age should(not always) know or, at least, heard of the young and talented woman known as Taylor Swift(T-Swizzle, for short). I remember the first time I heard of Swift. I was a senior in high school, just beginning to try understanding the trials and tribulations that come with graduating high school. That, and also learning how to navigate this little nuisance called “dating.” I am 26 today, and I still don’t completely grasp the general concept entirely.
However, thanks to my girl, Taylor, I have a long list of tracks I can stop and listen to whenever I just need closure to a tough situation, or inspiration to help me write my next poem.
T-Swift has also inspired me to value her as a “one-in-a-million” generation celebrity where she is truly an icon who feels just as much down-to-earth as any one of us.
Let’s be honest, her much discussed dating life wouldn’t nearly be as news worthy unless she was a multi-album cross/genre singer, now would it? (I’m still fan-girling about her short-lived romance with the Donnie Darko actor)
My biggest point to make here on this post is that thanks to Ms. Swift, I purchased my first ever album (1989; I also bought the electronic version on iTunes) from an actual IRL store! She marketed her look, sound, and tactics; but all was not in any way gonna deter her from her voice and her established song-writing in the process. (the Polaroids were a dead giveaway)
I thank you again, Taylor Swift, for being one of few true women who always look out for fellow women!
My bestie, Erica, and I got to see T-Swizzle right here in the Heartland of Omaha! She came to Omaha for two nights in the month of October 2015. Erica and I sat up high in the nosebleeds, but still, it was well worth it to see her up there on that stage belting out her well-written lyrics to music, it was just simply to die for! Our only concern was that there wasn't nearly enough room to fully shake it off with Taylor. We greatly enjoyed her tremendous idea of having individual wristbands that lit up to show her who all her adoring fans of Omaha truly are.
Best concert experience I have had in quite a long time.
