Wish you were here Grampa Leighton

Even though it's only been a little over a month, I still miss you Gramps. I hope Gramma's holding on strong. Haven't been up there since the funeral. I found myself looking at the pictures I sent to Uncle Tim. Some of those are pretty funny! Like the one where you were "reading" me a story then I fell asleep on your arm with the hardcover book in between. God, I miss those days. I miss back when I was still small enough to climb up on your lap with one of ten books I wanted you to read to me. I stole my favorite one: Tabitha Tabby & the Fantastic Flavor! I read it as if you were reading it to me last night. Then I saw the picture of us sitting on the boat you and Gramma used to own. Did you know that's the only boat I've ever really been on? But of all the things the two of us did together, Grandpa, the times where you allowed me to stand on your feet when we danced are my all-time favorite. And when you'd spin me around and call me a doll. I hope you continue to look down on all us children. I love you Grandpa Leighton!!!!

P.S. the one thing I almost forgot was the one lesson you taught me even if you never knew it.

You taught me that no matter what life throws at you, you can NEVER stop "DANCING IN THE RAIN."

Thanks Gramps!
